Heathrow operates common user antenna systems allowing third party operated radio service providers to offer push to talk services across the Heathrow estate. Alongside our already established Analogue Radio offering we are now able to offer a choice of the latest Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) through our service provider partners.

DMR offers superior voice quality and coverage as well as the ability to include advanced optional application features such as data messaging, job ticketing and location awareness.

The affini digital PTT radio system provides users with a choice of proven Motorola (vehicle) mobile and portable handsets, together with a range of peripherals devices, and accessories. In addition to voice services, the digital platform enables users to take advantage of a range of data services including GPS positioning and tracking, short messaging, and a range of enterprise productivity applications.

A unique feature of the affini digital platform at Heathrow is its integration into the WAVE™ affini Real-Time Connect platform. This allows digital radio users to be directly connected to work colleagues using smartphones and PC based dispatch consoles within the same private PTT talk groups.

The affini commercial digital radio service is supported by a 24 x 7x 365 service desk hotline, and response SLAs to meet operational needs of your business. Network access, devices and accessories are available on a fully supported monthly fee programme.

The Heathrow commercial airport communications control system comprises of a Hytera DMR (Digital Mobile Radio) Tier 3 solution, a robust and scalable digital technology connecting every service provider located across Heathrow airport.

The Hytera portfolio encompasses a wide variety of encrypted, user-friendly ATEX and non-ATEX hand portable radios, in-vehicle mobile devices, recordable body worn cameras and POC (push to talk over cellular) devices, all of which work together seamlessly. Radiocoms Heathrow project and engineering teams have full airport access and are on site 24x7x365.
